The SimpliTRACE Solution

SimpliTRACE is a web application, that is, a software program accessible through an Internet connection, developed to manage Québec’s traceability data.

The SimpliTRACE application was designed by Attestra to facilitate the collection and transmission of traceability information, as well as the management of data within Attestra’s database.With its user‑friendly and secure interface, SimpliTRACE allows all producers and agricultural stakeholders in Québec’s bovine, ovine, and cervid sectors to access their online records and submit declarations electronically.

SimpliTRACE allows you to access your Attestra file online and submit your declarations. Designed to make data entry easier, the system’s forms include guidance tools that simplify the declaration process. Navigation within the system provides clear and visible information displayed in lists or tables.

SimpliTRACE is intended for all producers and agricultural stakeholders in Québec’s bovine, ovine, and cervid sectors. If you have an Attestra file under the name of your farming operation, you are a potential SimpliTRACE user. We therefore encourage you to take advantage of this system by registering today.

Registration

Registration for SimpliTRACE is not mandatory. However, if you wish to access your file online to submit your declarations, you will need to register with an Attestra Customer Service agent.

To register for SimpliTRACE, please contact an Attestra Customer Service agent by telephone.

By registering, you will be able to obtain your SimpliTRACE access codes—a username and a password. When registering, you must provide your Attestra stakeholder number as well as a valid email address.

SimpliTRACE Online File

Your Attestra file is available online at all times. It contains information about your animals, your declarations, your production premises, the vehicles you use to transport animals, your tag and accessory orders, as well as your production activities.

The SimpliTRACE menu bar provides access to several information directories and numerous data‑management functions. These menus make up the different sections of your Attestra file.

By accessing your file, you can submit your declarations using simplified forms. You can also view or update a wide range of information.

1. Consult your animal inventory at any time

By accessing your online file, you can view your animal inventory whenever you need to and display it according to your type of production. In addition, a list of the animals present on each production premises registered to your file is available at all times.

2. Create and save your declarations in just a few clicks

With SimpliTRACE, submitting your declarations is simple thanks to the online forms available in your file. When you submit your declarations, the information is recorded in Attestra’s database and simultaneously saved in your file. Each declaration you submit is stored electronically in your record.

3. View the history and status of your tag and accessory orders

When you place an order for tags or accessories with Attestra, the order details are recorded in SimpliTRACE. By accessing your online file, you can review your order history or check the status of your current order at any time. This allows you to follow each step of the process and know when your order will be shipped.

4. Track your tag inventory

With SimpliTRACE, tracking your tag inventory has never been easier. Once your order is sent to the supplier, the series of identification numbers assigned to you will appear in your file. This list is updated each time you submit a tag‑application declaration for an animal.

5. Submit and maintain high‑quality traceability data

The SimpliTRACE application is designed to give you online access to your file. When you use your online file to submit traceability declarations or add information about your production activities, your data is updated regularly. Keeping your data up to date is essential to ensuring the proper functioning of Québec’s traceability system and maintaining the reputation of the agricultural products associated with it.

To ensure the quality of the information transmitted within Attestra’s traceability system, specific data‑transmission rules are in effect. These rules affect certain information that must be provided during data collection and transfer.

These rules in no way modify the obligations of animal owners or keepers as set out in the Regulation respecting the traceability of certain animals.

Any information required under the Regulation respecting the traceability of certain animals, whether transmitted electronically or through SimpliTRACE, must comply with the data format required by the system.

If the data you submit are incomplete or incorrect, the information will not be recorded, and a system error message will indicate the corrections you need to make.
